In recent years the Government has made significant cuts to Local Authority budgets and as such Councils have been forced to cut back on non-essential services.
Often these services include community gardens, village planters, parks and play areas. These green spaces can give a village or a town it's wow factor and re-enforce a sense of pride in an area for residents.
As such, we at Dandy's Topsoil and Landscape Supplies on Sealand Road, near Chester, have decided to launch a brand new local Community Fund worth £2000 a year, as part of our commitment as a local family business to support and invest in our local communities and their green spaces.
Owner of Dandy's Adam Dandy commented "Our new Community Fund will be split equally between Flintshire in North Wales and Cheshire West & Chester in England. It will be available for local councillors to apply for any of our bulk landscape supplies here at Dandy's; so if your local village green needs some new, lush, green turf or quality topsoil, or your local play area needs some fresh play area bark or play sand to keep your children safe and you're in the qualifying area (Cheshire West & Chester or Flintshire), please contact your local councillor who will now be able to contact us directly and apply for our goods for your local community project. We’ll assess eligibility on a first come, first served basis."
To apply please ask your local councillor to email their proposal, along with some photographs of the area to: communityfund@dandystopsoil.co.uk.
